At Hydrolix, we are revolutionizing the world of data management and analytics with an innovative cloud data platform purpose-built for petabyte-scale datasets. Hydrolix enables organizations to slash their data costs while simultaneously increasing their data retention.

Hydrolix is looking for a senior engineering manager to lead our Data Services Team. This team owns the data path: ingress, data lifecycle, compaction, and aggregation. The team holds deep working knowledge of nearly every component in the platform and is often relied upon to solve technical mysteries that leave others stumped. You are the interface between that team and the rest of the company.

  • We’ve got a lot of talented engineers. Your role is not to tell them how to do their jobs, but to help them collaborate and communicate so that their technical visions can become reality
• Coordinate the efforts of some of our most valuable engineers
  • This is a high throughput team.
  • Your mission (in partnership with Product Management) is to keep them focused on the most valuable efforts
• Help your team find fulfillment at work

• Play an active role in broader engineering leadership

  • You’ll work closely with your fellow managers, directors, and architects to deliver the best solutions for our customers and our business

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience managing teams of software engineers
• Familiarity with large scale relational databases

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience managing very senior engineers
• Experience as a Principal+ level engineer
• Experience with agentic software development
• Experience with distributed database internals
