What you’ll do
The Marketing Director is responsible for overseeing marketing efforts in Japan, in coordination with the US-based corporate marketing teams and regional sales leadership. The Marketing Director will work with DoubleVerify marketing, sales and product teams to develop and execute marketing programs that raise awareness for the DV brand, support customer communications and engagement efforts, assist with regional sales support, and facilitate lead generation and nurturing.
Create a region-specific marketing strategy and plan that will establish the DV brand and ensure we stand out against competitors

Conduct a competitive review for the region, including a SWOT analysis

Understand current sales strategy, regional growth goals and priorities
-
Review US marketing, content and product marketing strategy and develop an approach to localization
-
Document goals specific to the region that align with sales and corporate marketing objectives

Collaborate with VP of Marketing to develop a regional, cross channel marketing plan with specific KPIs for the region, including:
-
Press and media coverage
-
Growth of key social media channels in the market
-
Customer event strategy: volume, attendance and follow-up
-
Customer retention & upsell strategies
-
Development and use of sales collateral
-
Development and use of content/research/sales enablement materials

In collaboration with marketing ops, track KPIs and make adjustments based on learnings
Execute cross-channel marketing programs, including:

Localization (including coordination of translation) of existing content, sales and marketing materials

Identify new content and/or research needed to support regional marketing efforts

Oversight of website updates to include Japanese translations

In conjunction with sales and other regional marketing leads, identify appropriate events, negotiate with event sponsors and coordinate involvement at events, including:

Speaker identification

Materials development/ordering
-
Content for events
-
Event promotion and follow-up
-
KPI tracking
-

Identification of local PR resources for distribution of press releases and to help coordinate media outreach

Localizing key social media assets
Track and report on program success

Collaborate with marketing ops to establish a measurement baseline

Develop KPIs for each channel

Track and report on program success against KPIs

Make recommendations for adjustments to programs
Who you are
-
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in marketing and/or communications; Master’s Degree a plus
-
Experience in marketing preferably at an ad tech, agency or media company
-
Fluent in Japanese and English is a must
-
Experience having developed and executed regional marketing strategies, with experience and contacts within Japan

Comfortable executing alone or as part of a team
-
Strong organizational skills – ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Ability to develop strong relationships with management and teams
-
Excellent writing skills including presentation development

Strong interpersonal skills - with internal and external clients
-
Knowledge of media marketing, the sales process and media in general
-
Thorough knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc and presentation proficiencies

Experience with Salesforce, Marketo, HootSuite a plus
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on a number of non-discriminating factors, including qualifications for the role, level, skills, experience, location, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at DV. This role will also be eligible for bonus/commission (as applicable), equity, and benefits.
