Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Software Engineering, we are seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join our team and help build, maintain, and improve our web applications. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who enjoys working across both frontend and backend systems, is eager to learn, and wants to grow in a collaborative engineering environment. You’ll work closely with developers, designers, and product partners to ship features, fix issues, and strengthen your full-stack development skills.
This will be a full-time, permanent position working out of the Vancouver office on a hybrid model (3-days per week in the office).
What You’ll Be Doing:
Contribute to frontend and backend feature development with support from senior engineers
Build responsive user-facing interfaces and support the implementation of server-side logic, APIs, and integrations
Debug application issues across the stack and assist with performance and reliability improvements
Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure best practices
Collaborate in sprint ceremonies and technical discussions to support team delivery
Collaborate with cross-functional teammates to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions
Maintain documentation and follow established engineering standards and best practices
What You’ll Bring:
1–2 years of professional software development experience (co-op, internship, or equivalent experience also welcome)
Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and at least one modern frontend framework
A strong ability and eagerness to learn new frameworks and tools quickly and apply them effectively
Familiarity with web development fundamentals across both frontend and backend
Basic understanding of APIs, databases, and server-side application development
Familiarity with Git, debugging, and software development workflows
A strong willingness to learn, accept feedback, and grow technically
Ability to meet deadlines while effectively managing priorities and communicating progress
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Nice to Have:
Exposure to React, Node.js, .NET, Python, or similar technologies
Familiarity with SQL or NoSQL databases
Experience working with REST APIs and third-party integrations
Basic understanding of testing, CI/CD, and cloud environments
Personal, academic, or open-source projects that demonstrate initiative and practical skills
