Sales Executive, South China
Overview
About Overview.ai
Overview.ai is bringing the cutting edge of AI computer vision to manufacturing—solving inspection problems that were previously not solvable with traditional machine vision. We’re a full-stack company: we deploy GPU-powered cameras on production lines, run inference on the edge, and operate a platform that supports large fleets of devices deployed across the world.
We’re growing extremely fast. Our customers love the product because it works—high accuracy, fast deployment, and an operator-friendly experience that makes real factory rollouts possible (not just pilots).
The opportunity (why this role is different)
This is not a cold-start, 0→1 sales role. We already have large customers, executive buy-in, and proven deployments. The product is working in production today.
Your job is to take that momentum and multiply it fast:
Turn warm introductions into live projects quickly
Drive urgency and close expansions across sites
Convert pilot wins into repeatable factory rollouts
Unblock real-world constraints (technical, operational, organizational) that slow down deal velocity
Example: we may be deployed in 7 out of 90 factories for a major customer. The upside is obvious. The job is to go capture it.
What you’ll own
1) Land-and-expand revenue growth in South China
Own pipeline, forecasting, and quarterly revenue outcomes for your territory
Turn existing customer success into aggressive expansion across new factories, lines, and inspection points
Drive new logo acquisition where we have adjacency and strong referral paths
2) Technical, consultative selling (vision + automation)
Run high-signal discovery with manufacturing leaders (Quality, Process, Automation, Ops)
Understand the machine vision landscape deeply—how customers currently solve inspection and where incumbents fail
Position Overview.ai clearly against competitors (e.g., Cognex, Keyence, HALCON, Hikvision/Hikrobot and others)
Partner with applications/engineering teams to propose practical deployment plans that win
3) Create urgency and remove friction
Proactively drive customer timelines: next steps, milestones, decision makers, and internal alignment
Identify blockers early (process readiness, resourcing, line access, data collection, acceptance criteria) and push them to resolution
Own executive updates and communication cadence to keep deals moving
4) Operate like a closer
Build relationships that hold: plant-level champions → regional leaders → global decision makers
Negotiate and close contracts with speed and precision
Be relentless about follow-up and execution—no “maybe next quarter” drift
What we’re looking for
Required
Proven track record as a top-performing seller in manufacturing/industrial technology (evidence: quota attainment, rankings, major wins)
Strong technical fluency in automation + machine vision (you can speak credibly with process/automation engineers)
Ability to create urgency and open doors: you prospect, you follow up, you drive decisions
Excellent communication: concise, structured, and confident with both engineers and executives
High discipline and self-management: you run your own territory like a GM
English communication
Team Player
Willingness to travel frequently to factories (high travel is part of winning)
Strong preferences
Experience selling into electronics manufacturing, interconnect/connectors, cable, or adjacent high-volume production
Experience selling technical systems that require deployment, validation, and expansion (not just software subscriptions)
Comfortable selling into complex org charts across multiple factories/sites
