Product Operations Manager

As Lendio's Product organization continues to scale, this role will build the operational foundation that enables product managers to plan, prioritize, and ship effectively. You'll design roadmap planning processes, establish capacity planning frameworks, and create the tools and systems product managers need to make data-driven decisions and deliver on commitments. You'll work closely with Product Managers to streamline their workflows and partner with Product Marketing to ensure seamless release coordination and go-to-market execution.
This Product Operations Manager role establishes the foundation that enables predictable delivery and PM efficiency. As we mature, we'll strategically add specialists based on clear hiring triggers, ensuring each ops investment delivers measurable ROI.
The 3 Core Responsibilities
1. Diagnose: Understand our biggest pain points in product (40% of time)
What you'll do:
Map product development workflows from ideation through roadmap planning to release
Document current-state roadmapping, prioritization, and release planning processes
Maintain customer journey mapping documentation showing which product teams own which customer touchpoints (shared with Product Marketing for GTM planning)
Create frameworks for roadmap planning, feature intake, and prioritization processes
Document product manager workflows and tooling ecosystem
2. Transform: Eliminate friction & build better experiences (60% of time)

What you'll do:
Lead discovery sessions with Product Managers to identify planning bottlenecks, prioritization challenges, and tool gaps
Analyze roadmap planning inefficiencies and capacity mismatches affecting PM productivity

Build business cases for product operations improvements:
Quantify time product managers spend on manual roadmap updates, stakeholder reporting, and status tracking
Calculate time savings from improved intake processes and prioritization frameworks
Assess impact of better capacity planning on delivery predictability

Design product intake and prioritization frameworks:
Partner with Product Managers to create scoring models for feature requests aligned to business objectives
Work with Product Marketing to integrate market insights and competitive intelligence into prioritization criteria
Establish capacity planning models that account for team velocity and technical constraints
Build roadmap visualization and communication tools that serve both internal teams and external stakeholders

Develop resource capacity planning frameworks:
Collaborate with Product Managers to model team capacity across squads/pods
Create allocation frameworks for balancing new features vs. tech debt vs. maintenance
Build scenario planning tools for roadmap tradeoff decisions
Help PMs forecast resource needs for upcoming initiatives
Partner with Product Leadership to define success metrics for product operations (delivery predictability, roadmap accuracy, PM efficiency)
Assess and recommend product management tools (roadmapping, prioritization, analytics) and train PMs on adoption

What you'll do:
Implement structured intake and prioritization processes for feature requests and roadmaps from internal customers/stakeholders

Partner with Product Marketing on release coordination:
Establish launch tiers and release readiness criteria
Create GTM planning timelines that align product delivery with marketing campaigns
Build release communication frameworks ensuring Product and Marketing are synchronized
Coordinate beta programs and customer feedback loops between Product and Marketing
Key Relationships & Collaboration Model
With Product Managers:
Enable PMs with tools, frameworks, and training to increase their effectiveness
Remove operational blockers so PMs can focus on strategy and customer discovery
Facilitate cross-PM collaboration on shared initiatives and dependencies
With Product Marketing:
Align on customer journey documentation and which teams own which touchpoints
Coordinate launch tiers, timelines, and readiness criteria
Integrate market feedback and competitive intelligence into product prioritization frameworks
With Product Leadership:
Provide portfolio visibility and delivery health metrics
Support strategic planning with capacity models and scenario analysis
Recommend process improvements and operational investments
Success Metrics
80% of product workflows (intake, prioritization, roadmap planning, release coordination) documented within first 12 months
3-5 product operations improvements delivered per quarter with measurable PM efficiency gains
20%+ reduction in product manager time spent on manual roadmap updates and status reporting
Required Experience
3-5 years in product operations, product program management, or product management
Experience with product roadmapping and prioritization frameworks
Proven track record implementing product planning processes with measurable efficiency gains
Experience coordinating between Product and Product Marketing teams on release planning and GTM execution
Strong analytical and process design skills with focus on capacity planning and resource allocation
Familiarity with product management tools (Jira, Asana, Gsuite, or similar)
Experience facilitating cross-functional planning sessions and stakeholder alignment
Understanding of go-to-market processes and product launch frameworks
