The Opportunity

Nutanix is a global guide in cloud software and a pioneer in hyperconverged infrastructure solutions, making computing invisible anywhere. Companies around the world use Nutanix software to leverage a single platform to manage any app, at any location, at any scale for their private, hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Our QA team is tasked with test planning, test scenario design, and test case development to assess and improve the overall quality of our products. The role encompasses influencing product design by leveraging the broad knowledge of the product portfolio and ensuring that a quality-first mindset is instituted within our development practices. Also, automation of complex tests that mimic customer environments and workloads to ensure performance and scalability.


About the Team

At Nutanix, you will be a part of the Platforms team, a dynamic group spread out geographically. Despite the physical distance, the team is highly collaborative and supportive, fostering a great culture where employees can grow both professionally and personally.

You will report to the Senior Manager of the Platforms team. The work setup at Nutanix is a hybrid model, where employees are required to be in the office 2–3 days a week. This balance allows for face-to-face collaboration and connection while also providing flexibility and autonomy.

As for travel requirements, Nutanix does not have extensive travel obligations, allowing employees to focus on their work and personal growth within the company.


Your Role

  • Writing and executing detailed system test plans to thoroughly validate features.
  • Executing large scale customer deployment scenario tests.
  • Participate in defining product requirements, reviewing product design, performance, and scalability plans.
  • Automating all aspects of the workflow, including test harnesses and frameworks.
  • Collaborating with a team of developers, test engineers, product management.
  • Working closely with development engineers to detail and find the root cause of failures.
  • Engage with customer support engineers as well as customers to debug and solve production issues.

What You Will Bring

  • Minimum of 7–10 years of testing experience in a Data Center product company
  • BE or MS in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience in Test Automation in one of the following programming languages: Python/Perl/C/C++/Java (Python preferred).
  • Good understanding of networking concepts and protocols .
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Go Programming Language will be a definite plus. Experience testing distributed, cloud-native systems
  • Experience using virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM (KVM preferred).
  • Experience with building/testing a scalable solution and performance testing.
  • Prior system testing experience of large scale deployments will be a big plus.
  • Experience with distributed software systems
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process, including DevOps and CI/CD. Experience with Version Control System (git)
  • Basic understanding of UNIX/Linux/Windows
  • Can-do attitude while solving difficult problems spanning across multiple teams
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, agile environment
